Medical Integration

Medical Integration

Merging medical data into a single system is one thing. Harmonizing data from different formats so that they can be presented on a case- and/or patient-specific basis is, however, quite another matter. Be it documents, biosignals, images, structured data or videos: by applying JiveX Gateways, HCM can convert all important data into standard formats such as DICOM, HL7 and PDF/A. This creates the basis for a shared view and use of information in a medical, case or patient context.

Intelligent integration

In this context, it makes no difference whether the data are actually physically located in the HCM system or whether HCM acquires the data from a subsystem. HCM is not about merging systems, but about merging information. It is precisely this point that makes HCM so attractive: nothing changes for the users of special software, for example in endoscopy. They can continue to work with their familiar systems and tools.

In the background, however, the data and findings generated here merge into the HCM and supplement the other medical information. For users, this represents a double benefit: they can continue to work with their familiar systems and tools, while at the same time benefit from the time savings and information density that result from consolidated data access in the HCM.

This integration is also a convenience for IT, as only one archive needs to be administered. And by the way, HCM represents an excellent data backup: in the event that the HIS fails, the patient file can, for example, still be accessed throughout the hospital using the JiveX Patient Browser and the HCM.
